These journals are mostly concerned with academic study and research. Many of them undergo a review by referees who are experts in the subject areas. Articles in these journals always include a bibliography or reference list, they are often published on a quarterly basis, have not advertising and may have the name of the articles on the cover. Examples are Public Relations Quarterly, Television Quarterly, The Journal of Advertising Research.

TRADE/PROFESSIONAL JOURNALS:

These journals specialize in news, information and advertising for licensed professionals or people in the trades. They can be a useful source of information about professional/technical issues or procedures or policies. They are usually published by professional or trade organizations. Examples are Advertising Age, Broadcasting and Cable, Backstage.

Your paper should include:
Page 1. A cover page including running head.
Page 2. An abstract. The abstract must state that 4 journals were described (indicate name and type), one article out of each was summarized, and that the APA style was used.
Page 3.
Page 4.
Page 5.
Page 6. Pages 3 to 6 include the description of the journal and the summary of an article. The description must include the name of the journal, the type of journal (Academic of Professional), the name of the publisher and a description of the readers of the journal gleaned from the topics and advertising in the different publications. This must be followed by a summary of one article out of each journal (four summaries from 4 different journals). The name of the article should not be part of the description or the summary, because it is listed in the reference page.
Page 7. References written in alphabetical order by author’s last name, following APA guidelines.

You must use the APA style manual and include a cover page with running head, an abstract and a reference page per APA guidelines, for a total of 7 pages. Please make sure that the reference citation in the summary is per APA rules. Example: (author and year of publication) or author (year of publication). Please note that when you use quotations you must include the page number. YOU MUST WRITE IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
