Before 1796, when children and adults were getting disabled or died, the invention of vaccines against of dangerous diseases became a real relief for millions of people living on Earth. The time flew along with the development of medical care service and education system. Humanity has developed essential knowledge and skills how to fight such dangerous diseases as polio, measles, and many others. Thanks to vaccination many dangerous diseases can be barely remembered. However, without vaccination, a human body is unprotected. Lack of immune to any of such diseases can cause infection development in the body which leads to further unpredictable consequences. From the medical and ethical point of view, vaccination is a common good. However, human rights state that any person has a right to choose for him/herself. It is essential to understand that any individual is a part of society. If one person whose personal choice was to avoid vaccination gets dangerous bacteria and then infect other people who were not vaccinated on time (too small children, for instance) that would be even worse than breaking the one’s human rights. Such action should be considered as destroying somebody’s life or even causing death. Of course, human rights of an individual are guaranteed and are necessary to follow, but when it comes to the dilemma what to choose individual or the common good, human rights have to be limited or become secondary. All in all, getting vaccinated or not cannot be a choice of an individual. Getting shots from dangerous contagious diseases is a matter of health and lives of millions of children in the world. Their health condition is a key to prosperous and safe future without dangerous infections which do not disappear anywhere; they remain to be around, waiting for those who have used their chance to avoid vaccination because it is their human right. When choosing “to be or not to be” vaccinated everyone has to remember that polio, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough are here and they may cause irreversible consequences making a person disabled or even kill the one.
